Presented by some of MIT’s best and brightest scientists, the ‘Untethered Miniature Origami Robot’ is capable of self-assembly, swimming in water (admittedly pretty shallow water), and even climbing and carrying small objects. While it’s definitely still a work in progress, the fact that this little robot is already capable of so much is pretty hopeful and exciting for the future of modern robotics. The robot can even dissolve its parts in water when finished with its task, meaning that it has little waste management problems. Win-win, right? Check out the very interesting YouTube clip above and give us your opinion on these nifty origami robots below – face of the future or future flop?
